- Use heavy-pigmented cream foundation and layer it with powder foundation to make the skin look smoother.

- Use a concealer shade similar to the foundation and mix both well.

- Learn some camouflage makeup tricks and buy its products to use on your big day.

- If you have combination skin, use water based foundation and a dry sponge.
 
- Hide the under eye circles by applying concealer. Blend it towards the nose and use downward strokes.
 
- For a perfect eye shape, use a small brush to blend a medium tone color from just below the brow arch downwards in a semi-circle motion.
- Use light peach eye shadow as eyelid base.
- Choose lip liner that blends easily with lipstick for that soft glossy look that looks good in photographs too.

- Place the focus on the face either on eyes or on lip and underplay the other with neutral pink or brown shades.
 
- Thin and small lips look more sensuous with light lip colors while fuller lips can use deep shades.

Then apply and blend all over the face and under the neck an oil free foundation, which will last throughout a long and hot day. Try and choose a tone slightly lighter than your skin tone but never white! Indian skin has a yellow undertone and here we have used a No. 4 concealing matte foundation by Givenchy. Matte foundation is very important if you are being photographed, as you don’t want bad details to show through shiny skin.

1. Use a Very light moisturizer to prepare your skin. Choose a concealer of a lighter color shadow areas of the face around the eyes and nose.
2. Apply translucent powder with a pinkish undertone and spread evenly all over the face to obtain a matte effect, paying careful attention to the forehead, nose and chin. Check the front and profile of your face, as they are equally important. Always powder your chest area if you wear a d�collet� blouse.
3. The eyes are always very important, as they are a reflection of the soul. They are the focus of the face. Use a brown eyeshadow for softness and white makeup to lift. Apply a dark tone at the outer corner of the eyes and blend with white to make grey. White and black make-up is the safest to use, as almost anyone can carry it off. Keep blending and adding color and so as to avoid concentration of any one particular color.
4. Use a thin line of white eyeliner on the eyelid, to highlight the eyes. Finish the line with black eyeliner and add a little black eyeshadow under the eye. Then apply black mascara to the lashes. Remove any clumps with Q-tips. Next, brush eyebrows and apply a brown eyebrow pencil for extra definition.
5. Always concentrate on the mouth, before the cheeks to give the intensity of the face. Use a contour lipstick to define the lips in the same harmony as the lipstick. Use a long lasting product and color lip in full. It is always important to have your lipstick match your outfit, so we have used Givenchy’s couture lipstick No. 602 Ruby.
6. Apply powder blush in ruby from the cheekbone outwards and under the chin. Add white powder to highlight the top of the cheek. Blend with brush and powder for the final touch including ears. Finally place Tikka on forehead.

Bridal make up by its very nature is a unique requirement and your make up regime for the big day needs careful thought and consideration. 

The make-up for brides is one of corrective, subtle make-up that enhances the bride's best features and makes her look naturally radiant and beautiful on her big day. The first thing people notice when they look at a bride - is how stunning and radiant she looks, not her makeup itself. In fact make - up that is too obvious can look overdone and artificial so understated and sophisticated elegance is the name of the game! 

When it comes to applying bridal makeup, there is a correct sequence and technique to follow as well as a preparatory stage to ensure that you will be looking your absolute best. Selection and advice on the best and most appropriate products, colours and styles is also imperative. What works for you in your day to day use or for other special occasions will not necessarily make you look your best on your big day! This kind of in depth knowledge can only come from a beautician experienced in the nuances of bridal makeup.

Skin & Eyebrows

The first thing to get right is your skin and eyebrows…A series of facials  is recommended  to your wedding (that is if you don't already have regular facials) Start a few months before the wedding as it is common for your skin to break out and get worse before it gets better after a facial if you haven't had one for a long time. (Something to do with getting all the impurities out) Treat yourself to one a month for four months before the big day…your last one should be at least a few days before your wedding, to give your skin time to settle down. 

Eyebrows should be kept in shape regularly and shaped the day before the d-day if possible. On the morning of your wedding, make sure your skin is well moisturized about ten minutes before applying your make-up. I always recommend that you have your hair done after your Make-up. The next stage is to have your foundation applies. Remember that for the photographs you must take extra care when using light reflective foundation and concealer.

A lot of brides pile on layers of foundation underneath the eye, in the misunderstanding that it is a concealer, when actually, it's job is to "put light" in to dark areas…Don't do it! You may look good to the naked eye, but it will show up too white in your photos and you could look like you have puffy eye bags!

I'm not saying to steer clear of subtle light reflecting foundations; in fact they are great for giving the appearance of dewy, youthful skin. Steer very clear of shimmery bronzers and blushers though…

If you want to use a bronzer, use a matt one and use it very subtly, softly over your cheeks, bridge of your nose, top on your forehead, where you would naturally catch the sun…bear in mind that your neck should not be too different in colour to your face. (Don't be tempted to try putting bronzer all over your neck…you'll just end up staining your lengha!)

Eyes

For your eyes, you can't go wrong with matt makeup with slight shimmering shadows. I  usually use a combination of colours to compliment the Brides outfit.

 soft A black eyeliner, (No browns) use black mascara for your wedding day, even if you're very fair and usually go for brown - it'll show up better in your photographs, smudged close to the base of you lashes on your upper lid will make your eyelashes appear thicker and, in conjunction with a little grey or dark brown eye-shadow applied with a thin brush at the base of your lower lashes, will subtly define your eyes perfectly for the photos. I use black WATERPROOF mascara on just about every bride that comes to me, and make sure I curl the lashes before applying it. On some occasions I even consider using false eyelashes as this gives more definition over the eyes and looks quite stunning in photographs.

Lips

For the bride's lips, I like to use a colour that will not clash with the bride's eyes and dress and of course her Bouquet…Bearing in mind you have already primed your lips when you applied your foundation and powder by putting a suitable balm or moisturiser on them after you have done your base. By the time you are ready for lipstick to be applied, your lips will be in perfect condition…-Always leave this to the very last. I use a "Nude" lip pencil over the entire lip before applying the lip colour as it gives extra staying power, apply lip-color then blot with a tissue and reapply lipstick with a touch of gloss or a more shimmering color to enhance the shadow of your bottom lip and a slight touch over the top lip.

And Finally...

The most important tip is to allow yourself a good three hours to get ready as this gives your beautician plenty of time to work her magic and make you look stunning. More importantly it will give you some all-important chill out time away from your interfering aunties. Before you make an entrance, a quick check and powder before you leave for the ceremony, and your Dulha will be totally bowled over PLUS you will look fantastic in the photos of your dream shaadi!

Now, move the eye make-up. Apply eye-shadow as the color of your outfit, and then apply eye liner and kohl, followed by 2-3 coats of mascara. Finish off line by defining the eyebrows with a pencil.

• First the bride face wash with mild soap and applying mild cleanser then rub ice cube in the face for 5-10 minutes, in break and finally pat dry face with a towel.
• Now, use a cotton swab, wipe your face with cleansing milk, then take some moisturizer in your hand and gently massage with slowly of your face from down to up side. Also you can applied moisturizer at your neck and exposed back.
• Now this is the time to foundation put dollop of foundation with some moisturizer and mix together then rub your palm and apply at all over face, neck and exposed back.
• Now get face brush and apply shimmer powder at all over face, neck and exposed back. Follow it mainly on cheekbones, side of forehead and chin.

• After the eye, move on lips make-up. The lip color use according your outfit color. You make shape your lips with lip-liner then use a brush to fill the outline with lipstick and finish with coat of lip gloss.
• Lastly, apply the nail polish. Clean your nail with thinner and follow with two coats of nail polish with 10 minutes gap, then finally add another coat of nude polish and dry it.

• Your foundation should match your face and neck, so don't try it on your hand or arm for color a match.

• Powder eye shadow stays on the longest.

• Matte eye shadow looks better than frost if you're tired. Frost shadow draws attention to wrinkles.

• Extend your eye shadow above the lid (crease) and use a light shadow or highlighter right beneath your brow to open up your eyes and make them appear larger.

• Using an eyelash curler before you apply mascara will shape your lashes and extend them to the fullest potential. To prevent damage, do not hold the curler too close to the roots.

• Black/Brown mascara and eyeliner flatters most faces, blondes, brunettes, and redheads. Black is usually too harsh, especially for blondes.

• For extra thick, fuller eyelashes, apply mascara to the top and bottom of your lashes.

• When applying mascara to your bottom lashes, fold a sheet of toilet paper or tissue underneath the lashes and apply. This keeps mascara from getting on your face.

• Mascara is best when two coats are applied. Make sure the first coat is dry before applying the second.

• Use unscented baby wipes to remove eye make-up. Rub lightly.

• If you use liquid eye liner for a more dramatic effect, practice making straight lines. Crooked eyeliner will ruin your look.

• Eyeliner on the lower lids can make your eyes appear smaller. To open them up, line only the upper lids.

• Put your eye pencils in the freezer for a few minutes before sharpening.

• Waterproof mascara is a must if you're participating in swimming and outdoor sports. Same goes for emotional events such as weddings and funerals.

  Lips

  • Keep lips moisturized at night with petroleum jelly or lip balm.
  • Use a lip liner that matches your lipstick.
  • To make thin lips appear larger, apply your liner just outside of your natural lip line. Add a final touch with lip gloss.
  • Apply pressed powder on and around your lips if your lipstick has a tendency to "bleed."
  • If you're blond, avoid dark colors that appear too harsh.
  • Never apply lipstick testers to your lips in a store. It's not hygienic. Try applying it to the back of your wrist instead.
  • Unless your teeth are sparkling white, avoid coral and orange lipsticks. Instead, try red, pink or plum.
  • To avoid getting lipstick on your teeth, after application, run your finger through the middle of your lips and pull it back out. The excess will come off on your finger -- not your teeth.

  Cheeks

  • For tan or dark skin, apply bronzing powder to cheeks in lieu of blusher.
  • Pinch your cheeks for an instant glow.
  • Use a medium-sized blush brush to avoid a striping affect.
  • Apply blush to the apple of your cheeks and just underneath your jaw. Avoid the old technique of applying blush outwards towards the temple. (Updated.)

  • If you don't wear foundation, try a liquid or crème blush.

  General Makeup Tips

  • Always use good lighting and a clean mirror.
  • Keep your make-up light in the summer. Heavy foundation will cake and melt off in the summer heat and humidity, leaving you with a streaked look.
  • For proper hygiene, don't use outdated cosmetics, particularly around the eye area and never share your make-up with anyone.
  • Try bronzing powder underneath your cheeks and jawbone to make your face appear slimmer.
