How to Apply Foundation

Foundation is used to make the skin tone even and for the purpose of making the skin flawless. There are many thing to take care while choosing foundations. The following things are necessary to apply foundation.

· Foundation
· Makeup sponges
· Face powder
· Concealer or lightweight cream
· Makeup kit
· Moisturizer or sunscreen
· Primer
· Makeup brush

Steps need to carry out while applying foundation.

Primer works on a dry complexion to prevent makeup from pulling down into the skin. On oily skin it creates a barrier so the makeup doesn’t slip,” Quinn says. “It also prolongs the wear of makeup throughout the day and evening.”

1. Clean your hands and face gently with soap so that all the dust and dirt should be removed. This is very important step before applying foundation.

2. Use moisturizer or sunscreen which is suitable with the skin type. Leave it like that for few minutes especially if skin type is oily. Apply a little primer on the face. This is mainly used to hold the foundation from pulling down when the skin type is dry. A barrier is created when the skin is oily so that to prevent it from slipping.

3. Apply lightweight cream or concealer on blemishes and under eye circles with soft hands.

4. The foundation need to be selected very-very carefully. While selecting the foundation most people try to check its color by taking it on hand which is a wrong approach because the color of hand and face color are very different and foundation should be chosen as per the face color. Try the sample on the jaw line and watching at the mirror, finalize the foundation. Also try to check the color in the natural light. The color of the foundation should be such that it should disappear when rubbed well on the skin. Also try to select the foundation based on the skin type. Those who are having dry skin should not prefer wet and sticky foundations. Those with oily skin search for foundations which are oil free. Now shake the bottle of foundation gently so that the formula inside can be mixed.

5. Take a small quantity of foundation. Put it on the backside of one hand. Using the makeup sponge or the middle finger take some part of it and start applying on the middle part of face. Cheeks, chin and forehead. From the center of face apply it away and outwards in all directions. Apply it gently around the mouth, nose and jaw line with special attention. Make sure that the foundation should vanish. Prefer using sponge rather then the middle finger because finger gives uneven application.

6. After the application is done, apply loose powder with the makeup brush. This is also a very important step.
